Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Church | Sarah & Alex

I had the joy of photographing Sarah and Alex’s wedding last Saturday in Chicago. After spending a little time with everyone at the hotel, we made our way to the beautiful St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church — a historic parish founded in 1901. While some wedding ceremonies are brief and lighthearted, there’s something profoundly moving about witnessing love celebrated through sacred rituals within the walls of an old Catholic church. The quiet reverence, the echoes of hymns, and the timeless symbolism always seem to stir something deeper.

After their beautiful ceremony, the celebration continued aboard the party bus — and oh yes, it was a party bus — with a quick stop at Montrose Park before joining family and friends at the reception.
